Hi there! I’ve worked in publishing houses and as a freelancer for more than 20 years, including seven years at NewSouth Publishing/UNSW Press in Sydney. I edit all kinds of non-fiction and do some writing too.
Like most book editors, I’m interested in a lot of things – especially music, birds, comedy, literature, history, art, First Nations cultures and histories, wildlife, psychology, food, feminism and social movements, education, the law, health, current affairs, and anything that debunks pseudoscience or dodgy uses of data.
Most of my work is in editing, proofreading and fact checking, but I also do some research and writing. There are some examples of that on the Writing page.
Outside of work, I make music, appreciate birds (all birds: trash-talk feral pigeons at your peril), get overly excited about musical artists and books and TV and podcasts, and try to be a functional parent to two high-school kids.
